Let’s talk Transition! Fostering public acceptance of renewable energy projects in Korea and Germany
“Let’s talk Transition! Exploring the Energy Transition in Korea and Germany” is a series organized by the Korean-German Energy Partnership Team on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). It focuses on key developments in the energy transition of both countries, offering decision-makers from policy, industry, and research a platform for discussion on the current status and potential for different energy transition policies and technologies.
As Korea and Germany accelerate their renewable energy deployment, public acceptance has emerged as a critical factor for project success. From wind farms to solar installations, local opposition can significantly delay or even halt projects, despite strong climate targets. Therefore, this session will explore the challenges and best practices for increasing public acceptance of onshore wind energy and solar parc projects in both countries.
