The China-US Trade Conflict

29. August 2018, Webinar

I’m ready to go to 500” President Donald Trump said in a CNBC interview on Friday, 20th July 2018, referencing the 505.5 billion US-dollar value of Chinese imports to the US in 2017 and his willingness to slap tariffs on every Chinese good imported. Meanwhile Beijing is filing a WTO complaint over the latest trade tariffs, also having stated its readiness to retaliate against the US tit for tat. Very clearly the US-China trade war is in full swing.

Which factors led to the high tensions? Who will have the upper hand in the long run? What effect will the trade war between the USA and China have on international trade? What will be the consequences for German companies?

We cordially invite you to explore and discuss answers to these questions in our OAV Webinar with Dr. Doris Fischer, professor for China Business and Economics at the University Würzburg and head of the expert group of the German-Chinese Innovation Platform.

Dr. Fischer will analyze the timeline of the conflict, the current situation as well as potential outcomes. We will take a look at the impending consequences for world trade in general and for German companies doing business in and with China in specific.

As a participant you will have the opportunity to take part in the discussion and ask questions to Dr. Fischer directly.

The webinar will be held in English. Participation is free of charge but requires a registration here.

After the registration you will receive a confirmation containing information on how to join the webinar and system requirements.
