In order to integrate as much young talents into the global job market as possible, it is essential to accept and promote diversity in corporate culture, as well as to create education and training schemes that offer the younger generations opportunities and bright prospects on the job market. German companies with a strategic interest in Asian markets are increasingly operating globally and hence depend on the “Talent Pool Asia”.
Building on an initiative by Cornelia Kunze, formerly Vice Chair Global Client Management at Edelman, the OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce are seeking to prompt a discussion of suitable strategies to overcome the global skills shortage, while also providing a constructive and effective networking platform. This series of events is aimed at German and Asian CEOs, HR and diversity managers, as well as business owners.
The “Talent Pool Asia” event format was introduced with considerable success in the context of the Ostasiatisches Liebesmahl dinner and had the following priority topics in recent years:
The Talent Pool Asia 2018 event was held at the Berufliche Schule für Medien und Kommunikation (BMK) in Hamburg, focusing on a regional topic with the title - Regional Spotlights: 1st ASEAN-German Education and Vocational Training Forum. The event was organised by OAV, the Chamber of Commerce Hamburg and iMOVE-Training Made in Germany. The focus of the conference was the exchange of partnerships on successful educational cooperation and the prospects of future cooperation in the ASEAN region.
