In order to integrate as much young talents into the global job market as possible, it is essential to accept and promote diversity in corporate culture, as well as to create education and training schemes that offer the younger generations opportunities and bright prospects on the job market. German companies with a strategic interest in Asian markets are increasingly operating globally and hence depend on the “Talent Pool Asia”.
Building on an initiative by Cornelia Kunze, formerly Vice Chair Global Client Management at Edelman, the OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce are seeking to prompt a discussion of suitable strategies to overcome the global skills shortage, while also providing a constructive and effective networking platform. This series of events is aimed at German and Asian CEOs, HR and diversity managers, as well as business owners.
The “Talent Pool Asia” event format was introduced with considerable success in the context of the Ostasiatisches Liebesmahl dinner and had the following priority topics in recent years:
This year’s event was held at Google Germany GmbH in Hamburg. The Head of HR Northwest, Central & Eastern Europe at Google Germany GmbH gave an in-depth presentation on the company’s HR policies and its staff education and training schemes. Representatives from the business and scientific communities then discussed issues relating to future workplaces and the role of digital communications channels in the recruitment of suitable human resources in Asia and Germany.
