OAV Working Group TVET

Technical and Vocational Education and Training

For years, OAV member companies have reported difficulties in finding adequately skilled workers in the Asia-Pacific region. Securing and training of a sufficiently large work force has become a challenge, that is crucial for continued business engagement in each country in the region. In our annual Talent Pool Asia conference, we regularly addressed current issues regarding human resources. In response to the challenges presented in human resource management in the Asia-Pacific region, we have established a new platform, the OAV Working Group TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

The links to the Working Group TVET meetings can be found on the right under the Links section.

The aim is to create a platform where relevant stakeholders such as political decision-makers, business representatives, chambers, universities, vocational training institutions and other organisations come together to examine and discuss this vital topic in a practice-oriented manner and with cross-company solutions in mind. In its work, the TVET Working Group will concentrate on vocational training and education on the one hand and approaches for further training, lifelong learning and upskilling on the other. Through its cross-national and cross-sectoral nature, the platform will enhance cooperation and exchange between relevant stakeholders. Special emphasis will be placed on initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region that have already been successfully implemented by German companies, chambers and organisations, and how these can be adapted and implemented on a broad scale.
