First International Textile Round Table

23. January 2018, Hamburg

As result of a positive response from numerous company representatives to an OAV member inquiry regarding the introduction of a new "International Textile Round Table", the first meeting will take place to identify and discuss the current and future opportunities and challenges of European companies in the Asian textile industry.

In the course of a progressive digitalization, the textile industry is undergoing major changes, for example in terms of production processes and the functionality of textile products. This leads to a comprehensive reorganization of entire value chains. Consequently, the question arises as how the function of Asian countries will be defined in the future? How will digitalization change the textile industry in Asia?

Against this background, we cordially invite you to our first International Textile Round Table on "Digitalization in the textile industry" at the premises of Otto (GmbH & Co KG) in Hamburg.

The focus of the event is on the panel discussion "Speed factory vs. cheap labour - how does the future of manufacturing looks like in the textile sector?". The programme will be framed by short speeches in which experts from Otto (GmbH & Co KG) will provide you with an assessment of prospects and opportunities for retail companies in terms of digitalization in the textile sector.

After the event you will have the opportunity to network and exchange experiences with other participants during lunch.
